Michele Fae (Behnken) Krause

Michele Fae (Behnken) Krause, 62, of La Crosse, WI, passed away peacefully in her home on December 15, 2025 after journeying through cancer with great strength and bravery.

Michele was born to Alan and Kay (Guyer) Behnken on June 25, 1963. She graduated from M-F-L High School in Monona, IA in 1982. She was a devoted employee of Wipfli in La Crosse where she worked as an Office Coordinator for 37 years. She enjoyed mountain biking, exploring the scenery of Hayward, WI, and cross-country skiing. Michele had a passion for the arts and volunteered in the La Crosse Community Theatre where she performed as an actress, stage manager, and costume/set developer.

Michele is survived by her husband, Kenneth Krause of La Crosse, WI; her mother, Kay Behnken of Monona, IA; her siblings, Melanie Behnken of Monona, IA, Melissa (Dean) Walz of Monona, IA, Merritt Behnken of Monona, IA, & Marcus (Mary) Behnken of Cascade, IA; her nieces, Margo (Tim Engel) Walz of Manchester, IA, Macy (Ben) Holstein of Avon, OH, and Kaitlyn (Michael) Trent of Center Point, IA. She is preceded in death by her father, Alan Behnken (1984), her grandparents, Walter & Lucille Behnken and Aubrey & Mable Guyer.
