Arleen Frances Ferguson
Arleen Frances Ferguson, 95 of Monona, Iowa died from sepsis Friday, October 18, 2024 at MercyOne in Elkader, Iowa. Arleen was born March 24, 1929, the daughter of Charles and Abbie DeSotel. She was baptized June 28, 1929 by Reverend A. Daugs at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa and confirmed on January 10, 1943 by H.W. Siefkes.
On November 1, 1950 Arlene was united in marriage with Jason Ferguson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Pamela, Randy, Patricia and Ronald. She enjoyed the outdoors, her garden, flowers, family and grandchildren, all sports, the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes, playing euchre, partying with the neighbors and friends and making pies. Not to be forgotten… her glass of wine. Here’s to you! Arleen also was a good street cleaner and snow shoveler by the fire hydrant.
Preceding Arleen in death were her parents, Charles and Abbie DeSotel; son, Randy (1966); husband, Jason (2015); brother, Raymond (Darlene) DeSotel; twin sister, Dorleen (Henry) Thornton; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Ferguson and Melvin Martens.
Surviving Arleen are her daughters, Pamela Ferguson of Hollandale Florida and Patricia (Marlyn) Buerger of Monona, Iowa; son, Ronald (Chris) Ferguson of Monona, Iowa; four grandchildren, Waylin Buerger, Jesse (Barbie) Buerger, Savanna Ferguson and Levi Ferguson; three step-grandchildren, Dustin (Olivia) Bronson, Cameron Bronson and Jered Bronson; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and John Buerger; two step great-grandchildren, Kahlia and Brooklyn Bronson; one sister, Pearl Martens of Indianola, Iowa; sister-in-law, Judy Ferguson of Waukon, Iowa and her nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa with Rev. Erika Lenth as the Officiant. There will be a one hour visitation from 10:00 am until time of service at the church on Thursday.
Inurnment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Monona, Iowa.
