MFL MarMac to Host Free Screening of Gridshock Documentary on Human Trafficking

MFL MarMac High School will host a free public screening of Gridshock, a documentary that explores the hidden realities of human trafficking in Iowa. The event will take place on Monday, October 20, at 6:30 PM in the MFL MarMac High School Auditorium.
The documentary Gridshock delves into the disturbing realities of sex trafficking in Iowa, featuring interviews with survivors, law enforcement, and advocates. It provides a powerful and informative look at this pressing issue.
Following the film, Stacy Besch from Team Iowa will present and lead a discussion on the prevalence of human trafficking in Iowa and ways the community can take action. Stacy has been an entrepreneur for over 29 years and is an instructor at community colleges throughout the state. She is a professional speaker, a mother of two with five bonus children, a farm wife, and an active member of her community. She travels across Iowa developing leadership programs and, as a volunteer with Team Iowa, uses her voice to educate and combat child and human trafficking.
High school students will also view the documentary during the school day on Tuesday, October 21, as part of the district’s commitment to educating our youth.
This event is free and open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend and learn how they can help prevent human trafficking in Iowa.
