MFL MarMac School fare well in new state performance ratings
MONONA — New school performance ratings paint a positive picture for education centers in the MFL MarMac School District.
The ratings, released just before Christmas, showed the district’s Middle School and High School scoring well above average on a new Iowa School Performance Profile accountability scores while the district’s elementary and intermediate schools came in below the state average.
According to the Iowa Department of Education, the reports display scores based on a school’s overall performance, as well as the performance of subgroups of students, such as children from low-income backgrounds. The accountability measures include indicators of school climate based on student surveys of engagement, safety and overall learning environment called Conditions for Learning. The other measures are: student participation on state assessments, academic achievement, student academic growth, graduation rate and progress in achieving English language proficiency
