Tough Scrambler Obstacle Course to highlight Luana Daze

LUANA — The Tough Scrambler Obstacle Course race will again highlight this year’s Luana Daze Celebration set for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26-27.
The race highlights two days of activities that will also feature a tractor pull, softball tournament and fireman waterball fights.
Registration for the obstacle course begins Saturday at 7:15 a.m. with the race to begin at 8. This year’s race will feature at least 10 obstacles and more mud than in past races. The non-competitive race begins and ends in front of the Luana Tap.
Other Saturday events include a co-ed softball tournament (call Joe at 563-880-5405 or Chris at 563-880-4992 to register) and the annual Luana Tractor Ride beginning at Luther Keehner’s shop at 10 a.m. Waterball fights begin at noon and will feature divisions for men, women and kids. Also beginning at noon are kids activities and the annual car show. A bean bag tournament starts at 1 p.m. and a pedal pull will begin at 4. Firemen will serve brats and chips from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and ribeye sandwiches from 5 to 9 p.m. Other food will be served by the Luana Tap and Luana Community Club.
The evening wraps up with the annual Luana Tap Street Dance featuring music from Uncle Sam’s Band. 
The Luana Tractor Pull will begin Sunday at 11 p.m. Classes are available for antique as well as Farm Stock and Farm Stock Non-Turbo tractors.
 
MFL MarMac’s National Honor Society chapter will have its shake machine on site both days of the festival.
