MONONA — Five MFL MarMac wrestlers kept their dreams of a state tournament berth alive Saturday with top-two finishes in their Class 1A sectional.

Karter Decker (126 pounds), Gabe McGeough (145) and Zach Howe (195) won sectional titles while Kashton Mathis (113) and Jacob Trudo (285) were sectional runners-up.

Decker remained undefeated on the season, picking up his 28th and 29th falls of the season with victories over Starmont's Mikel Kugel in the semifinals and Postville's Tony Marroquin in the final. The freshman has won 10 straight contested matches with first-period falls, including eight in the first minute. He could face his toughest match of the year in the district final, where Don Bosco junior Michael McClelland is ranked No. 4 in the state in the weight class. Decker is No. 8.
