New Monona screen printing, awards shop plans June opening

MONONA — A successful Waukon screen printing and awards shop has announced plans to open a location in Monona.

Tyler and Mandy Halverson, owners of Epic Wear in Waukon, have been renovating a former department storefront at the corner of Center and Main Streets since January and plan a June grand opening.

T. Halverson had been working a store manager for a national retail chain when he and his wife decided that they wanted to open their own business in Waukon. After researching what type of business the community lacked, they chose to open a custom apparel shop. T. Halverson said he sees that same need in Monona.

“Monona was a place that we tried to get some business from, but it’s hard when you’re so many miles away and we just know the convenience of being in town,” he said.
