MONONA - Members of the Monona Volunteer Fire Department made Saturday a special day for a group of Monona senior citizens - delivering their annual Fireman’s Breakfast to residents of the Garden View Place Senior Living Community.

Firefighters Peter Fisk, Dan Havlicek and Nick Palmer brought a breakfast of french toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage to the community early Saturday morning as others in the community enjoyed the same breakfast at the fire station.

Fisk said the department had previously brought breakfast to employees at Monona Wire, which was not working Saturday, and then inquired about bringing the breakfast to the senior community.

“They were real welcoming, invited us in,” he said.
