MFL MarMac hopes to revive music booster group

MONONA — The MFL MarMac music departments have needs. They hope a group of parents and interested community members can help them meet the needs.
Instrumental Music Director Michelle Hontz and Vocal Music Director Jaydeane Berns said the school district’s Friends of the Arts (FOTA) group has fallen desperately low in numbers in recent years, and they have hopes of reviving the group.
“We’ve really just had a dropoff of participation,” Berns said. “We would like to get a group of parents together that is interested in supporting the arts and help with some fund-raising activities.”
Berns said the group began to dwindle as much as seven years ago. 
 
“We’ve struggled to get it together,” she said. “Basically it’s been the teachers and one or two parents trying to keep things running.”
