MCGREGOR — McGregor residents had a chance to share what they would like to see in a proposed new community center during a meeting last Tuesday at City Hall.

The new center would be built adjacent to the McGregor Public Library on land that had been occupied by the INKspiration Tattoo parlor that was destroyed in last year’s tornado. The property was donated to the City of McGregor by owners Fred Peterie and Melanie San Filippo.

Marion-based Martin Gardner Architecture, the same group that designed the MFL MarMac High School auditorium, was hired to design a concept for the facility with a $10,000 grant the city received from The Native Fund following the tornado.
