Luana Fire ends year in style

LUANA — The Luana fire department ended the 2018 year in a new style. Not only was 2018 the fire department’s 100-year anniversary for serving Luana and the surrounding community as a volunteer fire service, but after three long years of planning, fund-raising and making moved, the department was able to complete its new station.

The move comes from a station downtown that the 21-member department with four trucks had outgrown. Ground was broken in the spring on the new station, which is located on Bronson Street on the community’s east side.
