Late spring has led to prep golf season like no other

LUANA — Last Monday was a special day for the MFL MarMac golf teams. At long last, after seeing their first four meets in a or an eight-meet regular season postponed or cancelled and nearly all of their practices pushed indoors, the Bulldogs got to play golf.

Joe Milewsky, who has coached golf for the past eight years at MFL MarMac, said there has never been anything like this before.

“We’ve had a couple of meets cancelled throughout the year, but never anything like this at the beginning of the year,” he said. 

Cold weather is nothing new to northeast Iowa in March and early April. With that in mind, Milewsky annually starts practice two weeks later than date that they are allowed to.
