Landt moves into new role as Murphy Helwig Library Director

MONONA — For the past 12 years Heidi Landt has been a part of regular scene at the Murphy Helwig Library in Monona. That role recently became much larger when she was named the library’s new director at the beginning of April.
Landt replaces Christine Bee, who retired at the end of March after serving as the library’s director for the past 23 years. During more than half of that time, Landt had worked with Bee as children’s librarian while also developing programming.
“Chris and I over the years worked very well together,” Landt said. “She had specific goals – she wanted to be able to get the director up to, like, 30 hours (per week) and the children’s librarian up to 20, which she was able to do.
