Korby Keehner climbs to No. 1 in latest wrestling rankings

Korby Keehner is now the top-ranked heavyweight wrestler in Class 1A.

   MFL MarMac wrestlers climbed in the latest wrestling rankings released last week by The Predicament.

   Senior Korby Keehner climbed to No. 1 in Class 1A at 285 while senior Garret Keehner jumped to No. 3 at 220. Senior Michael Egan was No. 4 at 145 while senior Nathan Johanningmeier was No. 5 at 182. K. Keehner entered Saturday’s Hampton-Dumont Tournament with a 21-1 record and 11 falls while G. Keehner was 23-0 with 16 falls, Egan 17-0 with six falls and Johanningmeier 21-2 with 13 falls. K. Keehner began the season ranked No. 3 at 285 while Egan was No. 5 at 145, Johanningmeier No. 7 at 182 and G. Keehner No. 10 at 220.

   The Bulldogs were ranked No. 7 in the state tournament team rankings as a team this week after beginning the season unranked. They are also ranked No. 7 in the Iowa Wrestling Coaches Association Dual Rankings, having gone 16-1 in duals prior to the holiday break.
