Honeycutt spreads message of hope, change during high school assembly

MONONA — Kevin Honeycutt lived an upbringing that was so bad it was hard to believe. Now he uses the lessons he learned to motivate students throughout the country.

Honeycutt brought his message of hope to the MFL MarMac Community School District last week, speaking to students from each of the school buildings while also hosting meetings with teachers and community members as well as a concert at MJ’s in Monona.

With an alcoholic father whom he described as an “outlaw,” Honeycutt attended school in 22 states until his father passed away when he was 16 years old and being blamed by his family for his dad’s death because he was supposed to be watching him. Honeycutt said he was smart in some states and not as smart in others, depending on the type of school district he attended.
