Graham presented Community Service Award at first MCED Banquet

MONONA — Hay Days Chair Theresa Graham was honored with the Community Service Award during the first Monona Chamber and Economic Development (MCED) Banquet at MJ’s Bar and Grill Tuesday.

Graham retired to her hometown of Monona two years ago after finishing her nursing career in Minnesota. She volunteered on the Hay Days Committee her first-year back, served as co-chair for an expanded event this year and is already hard at work on next year’s event.

“They always say that you can’t just retire,” Graham said. “I was looking at what I could do in retirement that would keep me busy.”

Graham took training to serve as a Hospice volunteer and was looking for something to get involved with in Monona when her sister, Mary Drahn, introduced her to MCED Executive Director Rogeta Halvorson.
