Fundraising at important stage for Gateway Park playground

   MONONA — Fundraising efforts continue for playground equipment at Gateway Park on Monona’s south side.

   The park has seen improvements this summer, with new bathrooms and a renovated picnic shelter as well as improvements at the campground. The playground, which will be located south of the picnic shelter and near the park’s Veterans’ Memorial, will be along the Butterfly Trail and include equipment suitable for children of all ages and abilities.

   Donations over $100 will entitle donors to be listed on a donor plaque that will be placed at the playground. As of early last week, donations had been received from more than 30 individuals and local businesses.
