Faith Lutheran Church and MFL MarMac students team up to make lap quilts
Faith Lutheran Church in Monona received a Thrivent Action Grant for the Family Living Class at MFL MarMac to make lap robes for the Veteran’s Hospital in Iowa City.
Tamara Butikofer, Family Living instructor expressed a need for material for the students to use in learning how to put a quilt top together.
Faith Lutheran Church members will put filler and backing with the quilt tops and then tie the quilts. A member will then take the finished quilts to Iowa City to be given to veterans who are admitted to the hospital. It is a known fact that the quilts are very much appreciated and treasured by the veterans.
