Crozier discusses future infrastructure needs during Board Meeting

MONONA — MFL MarMac Superintendent Dr. Dale Crozier discussed the School District’s future physical plant and equipment needs during its regular Board meeting last Monday at the Monona Center.

Crozier presented information about Physical Plant and Equipment Levy and Statewide Sales Tax funds that the District receives and about how the money is spent. The District expects to receive just over $1 million in PPEL and State Sales Tax funds which must be used for physical plant items such as building projects and maintenance, technology, and transportation. It cannot be used for salaries, books and everyday expenses such as utilities. Current PPEL/Statewide Sales Tax projects total $446,000.

One expense that Crozier said is needed is a $16,000 expenditure for replacement of exhaust fans in the high school gymnasium. Of the gym’s four fans, he said two do not work well and the other two do not work at all. Replacing the fans, he said, would not give the gymnasium air conditioning, though it will make it more comfortable. More important than comfort, however, Crozier said the fans are important for the future of the gymnasium’s wooden floor.
