Clayton County to host pair of tractor rides

   Northern Clayton County will play host to a pair of annual tractor rides later this month. The Watson Ride will roll through the northern part of the county Sunday, July 21, beginning at 9 a.m. while Coloff Media’s Mason City radio stations will bring their North Iowa Tractor Ride to Clayton County for the first time July 25-27.

   Both rides are being held for the 12th time this year. The Watson ride started as what was to be a one-time ride that has grown as interest in older tractors has grown. This year’s event starts and ends near its namesake former town of Watson, about three miles east of Monona on Pleasant Ridge Road (B-45) and will go to Waukon and back. A catered lunch will be served at the city park in Waukon. The return trip will take riders down Jackson Hollow Road and through Monona before finishing at the farm.
