Butterfly trail extension gets hard surface

Monona’s new Butterfly Trail extension received its hard surface late last week as workers applied an asphalt surface to the previously-cut trail. Work began at Gateway Park and worked west toward the Butterfly Garden. Below, an asphalt machine lays a layer of blacktop across the trail adjacent to the camping area at Gateway Park.
