Bulldogs earn first-ever state football rankings

Off to one of the fastest starts in school history, the MFL MarMac High School football team is beginning to get noticed outside of northeast Iowa.

The Bulldogs (3-0) have earned their first-ever state rankings this week, coming in at No. 7 in the Des Moines Register Class A rankings and No. 10 in ratings released by the Cedar Rapids Gazette and KGYM radio. The Bulldogs were also No. 9 a week ago in a less widely-distributed poll. They are No. 2 in the Class A computer rankings released by BCMoore.

The 'Dogs have outscored their three opponents 128-34. They rank second in Class A in total offense per game (behind only South Winneshiek), sixth in rushing yards per game and fourth in solo tackles for a loss.

Catch the Bulldogs at home Friday night when they host Sumner-Fredericksburg.
