Bulldogs clinch UIC girls’ championship

LANSING -- MFL MarMac rode a strong defensive effort to a conference title-clinching victory over Kee High Friday night, 41-24 in Lansing.

The Bulldogs (18-1 overall, 13-0 in the UIC), who also defeated Postville 88-21 Thursday, lead the conference race by three games over Turkey Valley with just two league games left to play. MFL MarMac’s game scheduled for last Tuesday against Central was cancelled due to the weather and will not be made up.

Friday’s game was the Bulldogs fourth straight holding an opponent to less than 25 points and came on the heels of back-to-back games where Coach Jason Winter said he was unhappy with the team’s defense,
