Bulldogs blend returnees with young talent, have high hopes to 2018

   MONONA — The MFL MarMac girls’ basketball team is unlikely to surprise teams the way it did early last year on its way to a 17-6 season that saw it win the Upper Iowa Conference’s large-school championship. No fewer than 10 players who saw playing time on that team return, giving Bulldog coach Jason Winter reason for optimism entering his second season as head coach.

   “I think we can make a heck of a run this year in our conference and make a good run, possibly to Des Moines,” he said.
