Aquatic Center reports good crowds in first week of 2020 season

MONONA — The Monona Family Aquatic Center opened to good crowds and extra cleaning procedures last week, with local families taking advantage of the opportunity to get outside.

Aquatic Center Manager Julie Lenth said the first few days had gone well.

“The first few days have really been great,” she said. “We were really excited to open. It’s been really crazy with what’s been going on this season. As soon as we were cleared to open we got things going as soon as we could and cleaned as good as we could to get kids in to have a great summer.”

Lenth said opening day was down from past years but that the number of people using the pool had gone up the following days.

“Attendance the last couple of days has been over 100 people, which has been great,” she said.
